Welcome to Martial Arts Spot. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About This Site
Martial Arts Spot publishes long-term reviews, comparisons and how-to guides on the protective gear and training equipment that martial artists actually use: boxing and kickboxing gloves, shin and instep guards, mouth guards, compression rash guards for no-gi grappling, and interlocking floor mats for a home training space. Everything is written from regular use in a working club and a garage gym, with plain notes on fit, wear and care.
Affiliate Disclosure

Training Safety
Martial arts training carries a real risk of injury, including cuts, bruises, sprains, broken bones, dental injuries and concussion. Protective gear reduces some risks but does not remove them. No glove, shin guard, mouth guard or headgear can prevent a concussion, and none of the products reviewed here is a medical device.
Train under a qualified coach, warm up properly, spar at a controlled intensity with partners you trust, and stop immediately if you feel dizzy, confused or have a headache after contact. Replace gear that is cracked, compressed, torn or no longer fits, and refit or replace mouth guards when they stop fitting snugly. Children should only spar with supervision and age-appropriate equipment.
Thin interlocking foam floor tiles are meant for footwork, bag work, stretching and light drilling. They are not a substitute for proper crash or grappling mats for throws, takedowns or falls. Wash gloves, guards and rash guards regularly, and keep mats clean, to lower the risk of skin infections such as ringworm and staph. Talk to a doctor before starting a new training program, especially if you have a past injury or a health condition.
